(Re)creating My Documents, My Computer and the Recycle Bin
Posted on May 26th, 2009 No commentsEver wondered how to recreate the My Documents, My Computer and the Recycle Bin shortcuts? PowerFuse has a lot of advantages compared to the ‘ole desktop that you probably never really considered what the impact on the end user could be if these aren’t there. Even though by default PowerFuse creates the My Computer and My Documents application shortcuts, on overly eager technical admin with a greyed out Del-key could delete these objects by accident.

How to gracefully log off a PowerFuse session
Posted on May 25th, 2009 No commentsToday, a very useful article appeared in my mailbox. It describes how to gracefully log off PowerFuse sessions using registry values.
For example, you can force sessions to log off based on their idle time, disconnect time or screensaver activity.

Find those settings!

Here’s a cool item which may come in very handy. It’s an excel spreadsheet which contains all the Windows 2008 and Vista SP1+ policy entries. This is very helpfull when you’re trying to figure out which registry settings you want to implement in PowerFuse or Wisdom. The spreadsheet contains information on both Administrative Template settings and Security settings. -

Posted on May 22nd, 2009 No comments
There’s only 13 days left before the next PubForum. Hurry and register now as there’s currently only 6 seats left. If you haven’t heard about PubForm yet don’t feel bad. It’s not a highly publicised event, rather it is a highly technical event – for geeks, by geeks! If you’re in certralized IT and have had it up to here with over-comercialized events, then PubForum is for you! Held bi-annually, this time held in beautiful Dublin, it’s my third time onboard. I can tell you from personal experience that it’s damn well worth it!At PubForum, Yuri and I together with Steve Atkinson, are going to do the RES PowerFuse MasterClass where we will share cool stuff about what’s under the hood of the product, as well as valuable consulting experience from the field.
Have a look at the agenda for PubForum here
Seeya there!
