  • Find those settings!

gears4Here’s a cool item which may come in very handy. It’s an excel spreadsheet which contains all the Windows 2008 and Vista SP1+ policy entries. This is very helpfull when you’re trying to figure out which registry settings you want to implement in PowerFuse or Wisdom. The spreadsheet contains information on both Administrative Template settings and Security settings.

In the document you can find:

    • The filename of the relevant policy template for the settings
    • The full name of the policy
    • What scope does it apply to (user or machine)
    • The path to the setting in the policy editor
    • The registry path to the setting
    • Minimum OS requirements for the policy to work
    • Complete text of the policy explanation
    • Does the setting require reboot or logoff to take effect
    • Does the setting have any AD Schema specific schem requiremets

View the online version at EditGrid.com on the two following links. The excel had to be divided up into two sections, respectively the Administrative Templates and the Security settings, to meet EditGrid’s 2meg limit.

Alternatively, click on the Excel document here to download: excel-icon

Kudos to Brian C for sharing this!
