Max and Thomas,

I have a BB for installing Citrix XenApp 4.5 Platinum Edition but it is not yet built with enough parameters to make it friendly to import.  I would be happy to work on this if you still need something.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi Brian,

Hi Brian,

You had a chance to work on the building block?

Uhm, has anything happened on this? I'd love to see a publicly available XenApp BB

Bear in mind however folks, that certain vendors ain't none too happy with you distributing their binaries in a buildingblock in public.

If you have such a buildingblock you wish to share, it is a good practice to strip out the given MSI ressource and replace it with a dummy MSI file. However, please remember to provide detailed instructions on where to obtain the MSI to make the buildingblock work

If i'm right there was an item on the frontpage of resguru about making XenApp work with Wisdom. We use that config since. Pre reqs, installation msi and update packs on fileshare. ODBC file and unattended txt file in the database.

Works like a charm. As fileshare and TSses are bound by 1gbit a fileshare is quicker with installation than first download it by dispatcher/agents.

True, Brian did a doc on the subject  - might have been this one on RESug: http://www.resug.com/installing-xenapp-with-wisdom.

If somebody's in a sharing mood, I'd love to post the BB on the blog.

Think I can make one in the next couple of weeks. Can use the parts we already use, but need to anonymous the information in it.

Do you want one with the resources of the pre reqs in a resource package or just on a fileshare ??  (first option will generate a big wisdom resource package).
The msp/msi of XenApp always goes on the fileshare.

Brian Casselman was kind enough to share his Xenapp 4.5 buildingblock with us. I believe this is the BB that goes with the document posted here http://www.resug.com/installing-xenapp-with-wisdom.
I've attached the BuildingBlock to this post.

Note:

1) The binaries have been stripped out of the ressources, and you must add your own. This is so none of us get in trouble when distributing a buildingblock publicly

2) I have not tried the BB myself yet, but I am sure Brian would appreciate feedback.
