HI Folks - need again your help...

For a migration I'd like to query computername and add it to the MAC adress or Serial number of the PC (save in a text file) so after the deployment to windows 7 I can based on MAC / Serial number give the Computer the right computername it had before on XP.


Do you guys haveany clue how the building block would look like? Or any other idea how to realize that?

I would suggest a Query TCP/IP Configuration task. This one is out-of-the-box and is not worth creating a Building Block for. Downloading and importing the Building Block would take longer than creating one from scratch.
