Hello,

Is there anyone who has experience with using the Word 2003 viewer in combination with the office 2007 compatibility pack?

Because there is no Word 2007 viewer we are trying to use the Word 2003 viewer together with the office compatibility pack. Logged in as an administrator directly on the terminal server it works fine. But when trying to open a docx file as a user logged in true powerfuse the viewer gives an error message : There has been an error while trying to open this file.

I don't think it is a permission problem because i gave a user administrative right and it still wouldn't work. Also the viewer and compatibility pack were installed in installation mode.

Anyone got an idea?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

You have the authorize the user for execute of a few more applications because these are doing the actual conversion. (You can check this by putting the application in learning mode)

I believe this are the files,

D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Wordconv.exe
D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Moc.exe
D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Oice.exe

I'm not sure about the last 2 files, because we have a complete office installed with the compatibility pack and they could be used for other applications.

Thanks!

I authorized winword.exe to open wordconv.exe and it's working now.
