We have been using background changing (work in progress..) when we install new applications. But i would like to see Splash Screen (like Autoit SplashTextOn) messagebox that user can't click away.

We allways send Wisdom Messagebox before installing softare, so that users don't start any application when installation is in progress. And when it is ready there is ready messagebox. Currently use can click OK button and message goes away, and everytime someone start applications. If messagebox is allways on and user can't click it away they don't start any application. After installation we don't have to sent another messagebox just remove splash screen.

I get your point.
Only, I do not think installing software on working hours is the best thing you can do.

With WOL you can schedule jobs in the evenings. Turning all pc's on by WOL, install updates/software and shutdown all pc's.

Hi
We are using WOL and next boot. But sometimes you just have to install application update during business day. btw. there are also 7/24 users.

Petri,

Did you ever consider using the AutoAdminLogin function? You configure this in the registry (with RES Wisdom of course) and reboot the machine after you placed a batch file containing the command to lock the desktop (rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation) in a batch file in the admin's startup folder. After the reboot the admin automatically logs in and locks the desktop during the installation. You can combine this with a Show Message Box task or an under construction background if you like. After the installation you remove the AutoAdminLogin from the registry and reboot again.

Downsides:
- You need at least 2 (extra) reboots.
- The admin's profile containing the startup batch file needs to be present on the agent.
- If the job hangs the desktop stays locked and only and administrator can unlock it.
