We would like to use the Desktop to display active content (news items, applications etc) using our intranet site.

I already heard from RES support that this is not possible with the current Powerfuse Shell. Because this Shell offers the most stable environment (and the Windows Active Desktop is no longer available in Win2008), we will keep it.

Does anyone have a creative solution to this challenge?

But why do you want a solution that RES isn't recommending?
