One of our user is experiencing a problem with opening Office 2003 documents. When the user is doubleclicking a Word, Excel or Powerpoint document through the powerfuse desktop, a new document is opened instead of the document with the user's content. We removed the profile from the user on every Citrix server and profile-share but this did not solve the problem. Any help will be appriceated.
Citrix Server: -windows 2003 -XenApp 5
Client: -windows XP -citrix online plugin 12.0.0.6410 -User Workspace Management 9.0.1.0

Hi JaapB,
Welcome to the forums!
It sounds like your file type associations are incorrect for all the main Office applications. Does this only affect a single user or more than one? Can you perform a Workspace Analysis (look under the 'File Types') of the troublesome user and let us know what the Default action for .DOC/OPEN is reported as?
Regards, Iain

Hello Iain,
Only one user is having this problem. These lines comes from the Workspace Analysis for the affected user:
.doc new Word 2003 No /n /f /dde No No RES PowerFuse RES PowerFuse .doc open Word 2003 Yes /n /dde No No RES PowerFuse RES PowerFuse
Regards,
Jaap

Hmmm. Looks like you're using DDE. I'm a little bit confused as to why this would only affect one user, which makes it seem profile-specific. Do you have User Settings capture enabled?

Hi JaapB,
Like Iain I'm not sure why its not working for only one user; but I have Office 2003 FTA working for all my users in Workspace Manager 2011 using DDE. The DDE command line I have for Word 2003 "open" is:
Command line parameters : /n /dde
Check the box "Use DDE"
DDE Message : [REM_DDE_Direct][FileOpen("%1")]
Application : WinWord
Topic : System
The %1 is the key really thats where is passes the filename to be opened. If thisstill doesn't work you could try NOT using DDE at all and try putting "%1" in the command line parameters and see if that helps
Nathan

Thanks for your reply Nathan. We are already using exactly the settings as you do.

Got the Problem solved with help from RES. Open regedit on the specific Terminal Server and remove key "classes" onder \HKU\SID.
Thanks everybody for their help and time.
